Lamentations 2:21-22

²¹ The young and the old lie
    on the ground in the streets;
my virgins and my young men
    have fallen by the sword;
You have killed them in the day of Your anger,
    You have slaughtered and not pitied.

²² You have invited as to a feast day the terrors all around;
in the day of the Lord’s anger
    no one escaped or survived;
those whom I held and raised
    my enemy destroyed.
